Today (May 5, 2026), President Siddiqi sent an email to campus and the COD Facilities Master Plan (FMP) webpage was updated to address concerns about the possible closure of our pool.
While we’re happy to see that our protests against the pool closure have made it to the upper administration at COD, these communications have not ruled out a possible pool closure. In fact, they do not clarify the process or metrics by which a closure decision would be made.
Until the college affirms that the pool will stay open, we will continue to protest against a possible closure. It’s still important that we address the board at the May 14 meeting and let the board know what the pool means to us.
